This just in: Dad just got an email from the Nova Scotia nominee program confirming that our application for Canadian citizenship has been approved! YES!

I am now a permanent Canadian resident!

I guess that for every downside, there really is an upside. The downside today was HEX not working. And as I'm writing this, it still isn't. It sucks. I practically live on HEX nowadays, so the fact that it's not working makes me feel like a marijuana user on withdrawal. To all you facebook junkies out there: just imagine if Facebook had shut down for a few hours and you couldn't get on it. Just imagine it, if you aren't too afraid to.

It would throw the whole universe (because, let's face it, the whole universe is logging on facebook) into chaos, I tell you. Absolute CHAOS.

(And for the record, if facebook had shut down, I still wouldn't be going on myspace. Myspace sucks)

In other news, Imma gonna take down all my stories from fanfiction.net, because I don't have the drive to update them or  continue writing them anymore. Sorry folks! :-( Even their re-written drafts are going nowhere. I must make a fresh start. must, Must, MUST.

oh oh, and another thing. This drawing on Deviant art made me lol like crazy. Before you click on the link, consider this question: why did Molly and Arthur Weasley stop having more kids after Ginny?

This drawing by koenta will answer this for ya. Yep yep it will.

I hate Myspace with a passion, though I have to admit, you can stumble across something that is worthwhile enough to stop, listen to, and contemplate about afterwards. And this particular song perfectly encapsulates everything that I am feeling and what I see every weekday (and it even makes a reference to a Marie - ha!).

When I'm on the skytrain, I can't help but watch the people all around me, and wonder about the places where they're going to go, the places they have left behind, and the places they all wish they could be in.

And sometimes, just sometimes I wonder about these things for myself, and where I want to be and what I want to be doing instead.

Faces Going Places - Jose Vanders

There’s so many people at the station waiting for a train
To take them on some long journey far far away
There’s a boy with a smile, thinking about Marie
Cause he caught her in the shower last night accidentally
He caught her in the shower last night accidentally

There’s a woman with a baby, trying to make it stop
Crying so she's bribing with a lemon lollipop
There’s a girl with her boyfriend, she's in way too far
Cause I saw him looking at another woman's heart
I saw him looking at another woman's heart

And people say that I am being lazy
I’ve got the dreams but don't know where to go
You think if I could choose to live here at the station I would?

There’s a man with a bald patch at the back of his head
His heart is getting sleepy and he's watching where he treads
A group of sweaty girls are standing in a line
Naivety exploding as he gives them all the eye
Naivety exploding as he gives them all the eye

The lady with the basket full of all her eggs
She’s counted them too quickly, she'll wake up and they'll be dead
The boy who's lost his marbles has found them down the drain
The slit's too thin to get them so he'll have to start again
The slit's too thin to get them so he'll have to start again

And people say that I am being lazy
I’ve got the dreams but don't know where to go
You think if I could choose to live here at the station, to live here at the station
Ohh you think if I could choose to live here at the station, I would

My laptop is being majorly suplada. I mean, what is the point of having a superfast wireless laptop (which runs on Windows Vista, no less) when you can only do squat on it? Supposedly it's so advanced that it blatantly REFUSES to play whatever music cd or dvd I stick in, it DOESN'T let me install a Vista-compatible version of Photoshop, it will NOT let me scan photos in, and half the time, it takes forEVER to connect to the internet because it can't identify the networks.

Put my new, sleek and shiny laptop right next to my brother's pretty battered old one. Bro's laptop's pretty slow and runs on an older version of Windows, but it HAS Adobe Photoshop, it LETS you play dvds and music cds from 2005, it CAN scan in pictures (as well as do a million of other useful things) and it never, ever fails to connect to the internet.

Frustrating and nerve-wrackingly annoying? Heck yeah. I guess this is what a guy must feel like when he's dating a girl who is really pretty and is everything he could ever dream of, but who is too uptight about her clothes that she won't go out and do something fun, like go paintballing or having water-balloon fights or mosh at a rock concert.

Sometimes though, the guy must feel pretty lucky having a gorgeous girlfriend. And I guess I am too. I can't sound too ungrateful; my parents gave me this laptop for a grad present after all. And it's a really good present. It just can be a bit of a drama queen sometimes.

In happier news, Pita has informed me that my Browniebear has grown out his hair over the summer. Meow. So I guess he really does deserve to wear his "Hello, my name is Sexy" shirt now.

So I've decided to make Ratatouille fanarts.

I made doodles last night, after printing out screenshots of the movie and analyzing them to see how the characters were shaped and drawn.

Monday, July 30th Bangkok Time

7:39 pm: Ev and I have a mini discussion about Snape on MSN messenger

7:40 pm: entered the livechat home page, I didn't log in yet

7:49 pm: In my excitement, completely forgot I had to log in properly for this to work, dangit.

7:50 pm: logged in

7:58 pm: Event manager says: JK Rowling is about to arrive

8:00 pm: J.K. Rowling: "I'm here and I can't wait! Bring on the questions!"

Of course, I nearly died when she typed that.

I asked if Lily ever reciprocated Snape's feelings, and also asked if the trio returned to hogwarts to finish off their seventh year. I also asked about Parseltongue: Why was Ron able to open the Chamber of Secrets? (I always had the impression that being a parseltongue was a gift, rather than something that could be learned.)

I didn't get to chat with her, per se. There was a little box below the chat window where you could submit your questions for consideration and that was it. Still, it was pretty amazing, to think that she was sitting somewhere in England, typing those very words at that very moment... It was like being in the presence of Dumbledore.

Of course, I copied the chat as it was going. The Leaky Cauldron website's already got a full transcript, but I'm saving my own copied one on my computer. It feels much more special that way. As if it wasn't special enough!

Got back from Pattaya. It's beautiful, and reminds me of Bali *sigh*. Like Bali, Pattaya is a paradox. It is a place of beauty and serenity, with the sounds of the crystal blue sea crashing onto pale yellow sand. It is also a sad, jaded place: the haunt of elderly European men who are drawn to the legendary Thai nightlife, looking for companionship - to put it euphemistically.

I only got to see the beautiful side, which is a good thing. I definitely want to live by the sea one day, in a sprawling Balinese-style house made of wood and stone, with great stone steps leading out onto the beach. Traveling here and there all my life, I've never really had a proper place I called home, a place that had a proper sense of permanence about it. Even in the Philippines, where I was born, I only visit family for a few weeks - two months at the most.

Anyways, as cliched as it sounds, the sea is calling and my heart has answered.

Anyways, Dad got tired of my fangirling over Ratatouille and decided to watch it for himself. He really enjoyed it, but he was really wound up about the ending of the movie, where Remy and Co. start up a bistro. He thought it was sad that Gusteau's was closed, and when I tried explaining to him how the rest of the characters were far better off with their new jobs, he just fretted, saying: "but what if the customers discover that a rat is cooking their food? They'll sue!"

The original DVD comes out November 9. Durr... I want it NOW, so I can watch a non-bootlegged version to my heart's content and appreciate Pixar animation in all its glory. Plus, I plan to get a load of screencaps and make my own Ratatouille moodtheme, because I'm crazy like that.

I love this movie and I must publicly confess my love for Alfredo Linguini, that utterly guileless but adorkable redhead.

I got accepted to all of the colleges I've applied to!!!! =D = D

One is Acadia University, which was my first-ish choice. Second choice is Dalhousie, which is none so bad. and St. Mary's, which is my fourth. =D

But now my parents want me to defer for a year because we're moving to Bangkok, Thailand right after I graduate and they want me to stay there for a year. I'm not really complaining, I've always wanted to go to Bangkok.

But living there for a year??? It would be so interesting.
